The Date Navigator is a feature that is used extensively in Outlook to aid you in selecting dates.

Notice the following:

Today's date is outlined with a red box.
The date(s) that the Calendar currently displays is highlighted in gray (the 13th in the above example).
Dates that are boldfaced indicate days that have either an Appointment, Meeting, or Event scheduled on that day (1,26,27, & 28 above).
When there are small arrows on the top line, you may click them to go forward or backward 1 month at a time (left pointing arrows go backwards, right-pointing arrows go forward).
