Introduction

There are several ways to store and receive contact information within Outlook:

Global Address List
Personal Address Book
Outlook Contacts Folder
Distribution Lists

The Global Address List

The Global Address list contains the email addresses and distribution lists of everyone on your network.

The Personal Address Book

This list is maintained by you. It permits you to create and store your own email address and distribution lists.

The Outlook Contacts Folder

This list is also maintained by you. It is also capable of storing distribution lists and much more information than the Personal Address Book. On the whole, it is a lot more flexible and powerful than the Personal Address Book.

Distribution Lists

Distribution Lists are groups of individual email addresses that you may create in any of your personal address books to save time when you frequently address email messages to the same group of people.
