[ SubFolders ] [ Public Folders ]

Introduction
While you may create subfolders that are capable of storing all types of Outlook
Items (i.e. Notes, Tasks, Contacts, etc.), most users will only need to create
subfolders for email messages. This enables you to store your email messages
into different categorized mailboxes for future access.
Note:
Remember that subfolders created under Outlook Today will be
accessible from any Internet connected computer while subfolders created under Personal
Folders will be accessible only on your local computer.
Some classification suggestions for creating subfolders:
 | Departments you collaborate with |
 | Discussion groups that you subscribe to |
 | Projects that you are involved with |
 | Types of email that you receive (humor, standard responses, questions,
etc.) |

To create subfolders:
- Right-Click on the folder that you want to create the new subfolder in
(ex. Outlook Today, Personal Folders, Inbox, etc.)
- Click on New Folder...
- Type in a name for the New Folder
- Select the type of Outlook Item that the folder will contain from
the Folder contains drop-down list (usually it will be Mail
Items)
- You can still change your mind about where you want the new folder
to be created by browsing to a new location (the example at the right
is set to create the new folder in Personal Folders)
- Click OK.
