The Outlook Bar and Folder List

Outlook initially opens up with both the Outlook Bar and the Folder List displayed.  To navigate to an Outlook folder, you simply click on the icon for that folder in either one of them.

You may leave both of them active, but they largely duplicate each other so it's advisable to turn one of them off.

Which do you turn off? You make the call. You can get to more places by using the Folder List, but some people use the Outlook Bar because it looks a little better.

Turning the Outlook Bar and Folder List off and on

  1. Click on View on the Menu Bar (see above)
  2. Click on Outlook Bar or Folder List from the Drop-Down Menu
