Synergy Publishing provides web design, computer training, soft-skills training, and public speaking to the local community. Synergy Publishing is in the forefront of remote computer training and remote computer repair. Also founded Synergetic Resources, a resource pool of independent contractors with technical, business, and creative talents.

Computer Chat (www.computerchat.info) was a weekly talk radio show on WWBA 1040AM.

Demonstrated TechSmith Corporation's (www.techsmith.com) SnagIt and Camtasia software at many computer user groups in the Tampa Bay area.

Developed and taught both Basic and Advanced Microsoft Outlook classes for the Pinellas County School System.  Beta-tested the curriculum, and then trained the trainers to carry on the project.

Traveled the U.S. and the U.K. teaching all Microsoft Office Applications.

Started as a software/hardware trainer for GTE Telecom on a DEC based turnkey system named Netscan. Quickly learned system while creating curriculum for a one-week training class for the military that took place two months after being hired. Wrote DCL scripts that automated security and maintenance tasks on the system while providing customer support and training. Moved to TSI after six months and produced three user manuals within two months. Went to Follow Me Roaming and helped to migrate the product from Houston to Tampa. While at FMR, wrote macros to automate online procedures, improved and maintained our online trouble ticketing system, taught the QNX operating system to other analysts, and actively contributed to our collective body of troubleshooting techniques. This position requires a thorough understanding of network hardware and protocols (telenet PAD's, multiplexors, modems, switches, protocol converters, PC's, mainframes, SS7, and X.25). Created and maintained our Intranet (12.5 Mbytes - over 700 pages in length).

Trained customers on DOS, word processors (predominately WordPerfect), and spreadsheets. Performed maintenance coding on dBaseIII+ and FoxPro systems. Wrote a point-of-sale system in FoxPro that is still being used (yet requires almost no maintenance). Produced, wrote, and hosted a local public access television program called Computer Chat. The show won the Best Educational Series locally, and placed in the top four in that category in a national contest.

Suntel produces a variety of computer systems that interface to telephone switches to provide management information and control of large-scale telecommunications networks. Created, structured and managed the documentation group that brought acceptance of our documents by government and military customers. Responsible for the format and content of all functional specifications, design specifications, user manuals, acceptance test plans, installation plans, and system documentation for all of Suntel's network control systems. Created the Training Department and was responsible for the development of all training plans, student and instructor guides, training materials, user training and in-house training.

Responsible for customer support of 130 systems Suntel developed for Operator Services for AT&T, South Central Bell, Southwestern Bell, and SNETCO. Was instrumental in retaining a major contract when the customer was about to defect. Supported marketing department with demonstrations and technical support. Wrote proposals for and assisted in the functional design of Suntel's initial network control product line.

Was hired as a full time instructor after four months training.

This comprehensive five year work/study program was approved and accredited by the Ohio State Board of Education, US. Department of Education, and the Department of Labor. Training included a minimum of three months experience as a machinist, welder, pipefitter, electrician, electronic instrument repairman, and boiler mechanic. This hands-on experience was supplemented with classroom instruction in advanced algebra, trigonometry, blueprint reading, physics, and hydraulics.

For the past nine years, I have been teaching monthly computer seminars at the Palm Harbor Library. Using only word-of-mouth advertising, attendance has grown from 40 people to over 220 people in January of ’99. Topics have included the following: Windows 95/98, Windows Tips & Tricks, Using the Internet, Putting Your Business on the Web, Creating Web Pages, Using Microsoft Office, and many others.
